Invisible Force

A group of leading nonprofit organizations has formed a dynamic collaborative network known as Invisible Force. One of the groups main objectives is to generate additional support and momentum to help engage those 50+ in public and community service.

The Invisible Force collaborative group is committed to supporting and expanding volunteer service opportunities in Minnesota to strengthen the community and serve all citizens. This network includes AARP; Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater; Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota; Minnesota Alliance with Youth; Minnesota Association of Volunteer Administrators (MAVA); ServeMinnesota; Twin Cities Public Television (tpt); United Way Caring Connection; HandsOn Twin Cities; and the Vital Aging Network

GOALS:

  • To move to action the oncoming wave of baby boomers and other Minnesotans to volunteer and become more engaged in their democracy by demonstrating the real differences volunteers make in the lives of people, the health of communities, and our democracy.
  • To engage volunteers, and then maintain and convert their efforts to produce ongoing meaningful volunteer work.
  • To build the pool of volunteers and enhance the volunteer infrastructure across Minnesota through delivery of training and resources to volunteer managers and practitioners.
  • To strengthen delivery systems throughout the state in order to maximize the use of volunteers, the availability of volunteers, and the capacity
