One Voice Campaign

Minnesota Youth Council members Jem Nelson and Esther Lee interviewed Rep. Paul Marquart for the One Voice project

Minnesota Alliance With Youth and Twin Cities Public Television (tpt) in collaboration with the Minnesota Department of Education are proud to launch a messaging campaign called, “One Voice.” One Voice communicates to Minnesota’s youth the importance of experiencing success in school, work and life – both now and in the future. The unique element about this project is that it’s created not only for youth, but by youth. By providing their personal perspective, youth involved in the project seek to communicate the message to those who need to hear it most: those not currently engaged in school.

Each year more than 10,000 youth in Minnesota disengage from school, and Minnesota’s academic achievement gap has grown to one of the largest in the nation.

Have you considered leaving school?  Are you currently disengaged from school? Do you know someone that is? Watch these videos!

It’s not too late to get back on track! The resources below can be your first step back to engagement in school, work and life!

About the “One Voice” video project

The “One Voice” project is part of a nationwide public media initiative that addresses the dropout crisis called “American Graduate: Let’s Make it Happen”. The Minnesota Alliance With Youth’s Minnesota Youth Council worked with staff from Twin Cities Public Television (tpt) to determine the messages they hope will keep students from dropping out of high school.

The Alliance is grateful to the National Center for Media Engagement, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, America’s Promise Alliance, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Twin Cities Public Television (tpt) and the Minnesota Department of Education for helping to make this project possible.
