Attend for our first ever TWITTER PARTY tomorrow from 4-5 pm CST!
To go along with our Solutions in Action Youth Summit in partnership with Minnesota Minority Education Partnership, we’re helping to co-host a Twitter party on Tuesday, Jan. 28th from 4-5 pm.
Join our real-time discussion about the discipline gap between white students and students of color, ideas about how to make school behavior policies more fair/collaborative, and the role of youth voice in our school’s policies.
We will be posing questions related to suspension rate disparities, discipline reform, alternatives to suspensions and the power of youth engagement and leadership and let the conversation build from there!
How It Works:
Event moderators will be posting discussion questions. To ‘attend’, log on to Twitter at 4 pm tomorrow and participate in the discussion by including the hashtag #SNSYouthSummit after your responses. All you need in order to participate is a Twitter account.
We’re inviting youth, parents, teachers, youth workers, and all others to join in the conversation!
Those in the metro area can beat the cold by coming to the Alliance office for a laptop party/live projection of the Twitter feed on our SMART board. Please feel free to invite others as well!
Follow @MMEPRaceEquity on Twitter. Take a look at their Twitter feed at 4 pm and use the hashtag #SNSYouthSummit to respond to a question/comment.
We hope to see your great insights/questions tomorrow!!
