Kimberly: Keeping Up with Math

“I have been working with a girl named Heidy. She is a new student who came from Guatemala and she does not speak any English. Working with her has been a great challenge because she can be very distant with the authority here at school. However, her and I have a great relationship and we were able to set up goals for her math class. Now she does not skip math and actually tries to do her homework and not get behind. Even though the language is still a barrier, I am happy she actually tries!”
