Seeing Their Capacity

“When I first started working with Elijah he was very disengaged in his Geometry and English classes. The phone was a huge distraction, and he was very disinterested in doing work in class. After being present in these two classes for about 2-3 weeks we started making progress toward finishing in-class work at higher rates.
Today, it comes much easier for Elijah, and he is more motivated to get work done because I have assured him that this is something he is more than capable of doing. It is really great to see students realize what they are capable of– even if school work is still not their favorite thing to do.”
