Support and Resources during the Trial
April 7, 2021
For many, the trial of former Minneapolis Police Department Derek Chauvin is difficult and traumatizing to watch. The testimonies, videos and images seen and heard in the trial are all clear examples of the inequities of our country’s criminal justice system. They are a reminder of the many Black lives, including George Floyd’s, that have been taken by police brutality and the deadly impact of white supremacy that permeates our country.
To our Black and BIPOC partners, students, and AmeriCorps members, we are holding you in our hearts with love, and we reaffirm our commitment as an organization and individuals to center anti-racist practices and equity in our work each and every day. As the trial progresses, please take care of yourselves, and ask for and take the support, love, and space you need as we work together for racial justice.
