AmeriCorps Volunteers

Advocate For AmeriCorps

Across the country, AmeriCorps programs, including Alliance Promise Fellows and VISTAs, engage more than 80,000 Americans in intensive service each year. Since the program’s founding in 1994, more than 1 million AmeriCorps members have contributed over 1.4 billion hours in service across America while tackling pressing problems and mobilizing volunteers for the organizations they serve. National service delivers incredible results in our country, and needs YOUR support to continue to thrive in our communities.

National Funding For AmeriCorps

On May 23, 2017, the White House released their full FY18 budget proposal, which provides a small amount of funding to support the shutdown of the Corporation for National and Community Service over the course of the next year. Contact your members of Congress today and urge them to protect funding for national service. Let them know how important these programs are to your community. Need some ideas on what to say? Reference this document for your outreach efforts.
