Ignite_TagPlusStack-e1398889783396The Alliance serves on the strategic leadership team of Ignite Afterschool,¬†Minnesota’s Afterschool Network, which convenes leaders in practice, research, and funding to create policy reform, build capacity in the field, and develop resources for quality youth-centered after-school summer and year-round learning opportunities for children and youth.

The network engages 750 public and nonprofit organizations statewide, and is housed at the youth development intermediary Youthprise in Minneapolis.

The network was established in 2004, when the field experienced a significant public funding decrease. It coalesced around the idea that organizations could be more effective if they worked together, speaking with a statewide voice on issues of quality, policy, and development in the after-school field. Earlier, the network was known as Youth Community Connections (YCC).
