Alliance Strategic Framework

Dear friends,

Over the past year, I’ve been humbled to lead the Alliance though an incredible process of exploration and reflection.  Young people, AmeriCorps alumni, current partners, founding members, funders, community leaders, staff and Board members have come together for a series of conversations about our 20 years of history, the origins of our work, our hopes for the future and the core values that drive us forward.  As the Alliance’s new CEO (following Sarah Dixon’s retirement in November), the journey has been both enlightening and inspiring for me.

After countless post-it notes, ice-breaker activities and staff revisions, I am pleased to present the result of this journey.  Our new Strategic Framework outlines a redefined Mission, Vision and set of Strategic Goals and Principles to carry our work into the next 20 years.

Notable in this Framework are two important elements,

  • First, our renewed commitment to working “with” youth- changing systems and creating avenues for young people to be leaders and drivers of their own futures, and
  • Second, a sharpened focus on equity, infusing this value into all aspects of our work to ensure that ALL of our state’s young people are engaged in and nurtured by their educational experience.

At this notable juncture in our history, after 20 years of partnerships, new leadership at the helm, and a new Framework for progress, I thank you sincerely for your past partnership and support, and look forward to the future!
