    Bright Water Communications Coordinator VISTA: Bright Water is a Pre-K-6th-grade public charter school in North Minneapolis with a mission to provide an excellent, equitable Montessori education to an intentionally diverse student body. The VISTA will lead Bright Water’s brand change, including ensuring the new branded image is represented on all forms, signs, and marketing materials, and will ssess current social media presence and create a social media policy guide to build sustainability in branding.  Position Open- Apply HERE

    Bright Water Environmental Education and After School Coordinator VISTA: Bright Water is a Pre-K-6th-grade public charter school in North Minneapolis with a mission to provide an excellent, equitable Montessori education to an intentionally diverse student body. The VISTA will develop culturally responsive environmental literacy curriculum, and partner with lead teachers to identify environmental literacy focus areas that can be integrated into the interdisciplinary Montessori model.  Position Open- Apply HERE  

    Minnesota Alliance With Youth – Youth Voice VISTA: The mission of Minnesota Alliance With Youth is “to work in partnership with youth to ensure that ALL young people have equitable educational opportunities that foster their individual assets, honor their voices, and prepare them to reach their goals.” The Youth Voice and Program VISTA will increase accessibility to training curriculum and resources for supporting youth led movements with the goal of closing the achievement gap and amplifying youth voice, particularly young people of color and low-income youth.     Project for Pride in Living Youth Justice Coordinator VISTA: PPL is a 39 year-old nonprofit organization that serves low-income individuals and families by helping them gain the tools they need to reach greater self-sufficiency. Guiding the organization’s growth and current programs is the phrase, helping people help themselves, expressing our commitment to the values of a strong work ethic, personal accountability and responsibility, and the participation of the people we work with in their own growth toward self-sufficiency.  The VISTA will build capacity for organizations within LEAP and with other Youth Justice 20*20 partners to support young people to apply to have their records sealed.     Roseville Area Schools – Data Specialist VISTA: The Roseville Area Public Schools Data Specialist VISTA will lead and provide assistance to schools to analyze student formative and summative academic data and identify needs in order to increase and improve programming and services for students most at risk of not completing high school and those most impacted by the state and district’s educational disparities. The Data Specialist VISTA will help to create solutions that increase the graduation rate of all Roseville students, with an emphasis on students of color and students qualifying for Free and Reduced Lunch.  Position Open- Apply HERE

    Roseville Area Schools – Strategic Planning Specialist VISTA: In partnership with the Minnesota Humanities Center, the Strategic Planning Specialist VISTA will develop a strategic 3-year professional learning plan centered around racial equity for all Roseville Area Schools’ staff, with the ultimate goal of decreasing educational inequities faced by students of color in Roseville Area Schools.     Search Institute – Research & Practice Communications VISTA:  Search Institute is a nonprofit organization that studies and works to strengthen youth success in schools, coalitions, youth and family organizations, and the faith community.  The VISTA will work in partnership with the supervisor and host site to build and begin implementation of systems and strategies to (a) effectively communicate findings from Search Institute’s applied research on the critical role developmental relationships in ensuring success in school and life for young people across Minnesota and the United States; and (b) equip educators and other youth-serving practitioners to more effectively use research to improve practice. The goal is to use data to empower youth and adults to become more intentional and inclusive in building relationships that help to reduce inequities, increase opportunities, services, and programs for youth of color, low-income youth, and other young people from marginalized communities.     Urban Boatbuilders Communications Associate VISTA: Smell that sawdust! Walk into Urban Boatbuilders on a weekday after school, and you’ll find a loud, thriving workshop, with youth of all backgrounds working together to build beautiful, usable watercrafts from raw lumber. Our instructors work with youth five days a week to teach them invaluable hands-on skills through boatbuilding. Urban Boatbuilders empowers youth to build the skills they need to succeed in school, work, and life through the building and use of wooden boats. This dynamic VISTA position will build organizational capacity through volunteer management and planning and executing a new, sustainable communications strategy.     CMRS Housing Stability VISTA: Community Mediation & Restorative Services, Inc. (CMRS) has been helping individuals move from conflict to resolution and from harm to healing through respectful and confidential mediation and restorative justice processes since 1983. We believe many of our community’s most pressing issues–housing instability, juvenile crime, family/workplace/neighborhood discord — stem from an unresolved dispute or offense. With the generous support of trained volunteer mediators and facilitators, CMRS is taking concrete action to improve civil discourse and dispute resolution in our local communities.     LearningWorks Alumni & Community Engagement Coordinator VISTA: Since 2000, the mission of LearningWorks is to offer challenging academic enrichment to a representative group of high-potential middle school students in the Minneapolis Public Schools, over summers and on school-year Saturdays. We also draw talented, diverse high school and college students into education by engaging them in the art of teaching. LearningWorks is actively seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented AmeriCorps VISTA member to join our diverse and dedicated team. The The Alliance VISTA will work in partnership with the supervisor and host site to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the LearningWorks alumni network by expanding resources and community partnerships as well as developing college bound programming to support high-school aged youth on their path to and through college.     Carlton County Restorative Justice VISTA: Carlton County was established, with boundaries as they currently are, in 1857, and is home to over 35,000 citizens, including over 3,200 people of the Fond du Lac Reservation, the Lake Superior Band of Ojibway. Our population is mostly rural, 34.8 persons per square mile, with ten cities. Our largest city is Cloquet, which is home to 12,124 persons and the Fond du Lac Tribal & Community College. T This position would be housed in the County Initiatives Department within the Communities Restorative Response Division.     Mediation Services for Anoka County (MSAC), helps families, neighborhoods, schools, landlords, tenants, businesses, consumers, manage and resolve conflict through education and conflict resolution services. Professionally trained and supervised volunteer mediators assist individuals and communities to successfully resolve problems and disputes on their own using alternative dispute resolution methods. Our AmeriCorps VISTA member will help support our organization through focusing on housing stability and restorative practice support in the schools/county, and investigating the various needs of schools and begin to create plans for RP training, mentoring, and support.     MENTOR Minnesota launched in 1994 as a community initiative to promote mentoring for Minnesota youth. For over 20 years, we have led the mentoring movement to ensure youth and mentors have access to high-quality mentoring experiences through our network of 200 mentoring programs. MENTOR Minnesota currently offers support to mentoring programs across the state by offering consulting services to established or upstart programs. MENTOR needs help building our capacity through consultant management, data management, and mentoring programs support. Our AmeriCorps VISTA will play a critical role in our organization through building and strengthening relationships with mentoring organizations, storytelling, and creating best practices.  Position Open – Apply HERE

    Minnesota Education Equity Partnership (MNEEP) uses a race equity lens to transform educational institutions, organizations, and leaders to ensure that students of color and American Indian students achieve full academic and leadership success. We envision a just society in which an equitable educational ecosystem ensures all students achieve their full potential.     Hopkins West Jr. High: Join the revolution! West Junior High is located within the Hopkins School District, and serves students from all over the metro area. We are engaged in the enormous work of changing education to ensure the needs of ALL of our students are met. We are a welcoming community.     Intermediate District 287: District 287 serves students with higher needs. Our Promise Fellows work with students in Alternative Learning Centers and also contribute to our Diploma On! project to re-engage students who drop from high school.     High School for Recording Arts: High School for Recording Arts has been working with opportunity youth for 20 years, engaging them by first asking, ‘what are you passionate about?’ It is from here, this exploration of interest and creativity, that we construct credit learning opportunities for our young people. Every day, Promise Fellows at High School for Recording Arts will have the opportunity to develop nurturing relationships with young people and help motivate them towards success through their creative pursuits.

    Intermediate School District 917 serves students from nine school districts throughout Dakota County. With three Area Learning Sites we provide alternative education programming to meet the complex and unique needs of 200 students. We are looking for teammates to be strong advocates, empathetic coaches, and caring adults for the children who need us the most.   • Promise Fellow- Greater Minnesota Schools

    Kerkhoven, Murdock, Sunburg Jr Sr High School is a small, rural high school with a family atmosphere and a strong commitment to serving youth. With the goal of 100% graduation the Promise Fellow will provide at risk students with interventions, guidance, and supports. KMS is in search of a passionate, caring person with a strong desire to become an integral part of our problem-solving team and make a difference in the lives of central Minnesota youth.

    Hastings Middle School– Hastings is a community with a robust history of caring adults, community service opportunities, and engaged citizens. Hastings Middle School (HMS) serves 1407 5th-8th grade students, predominantly Caucasian and English speaking. The Hastings Public Schools report a free and reduced lunch rate of 22.1%, somewhat notable in a community with limited diversity. Hastings Middle School has had one or more Promise Fellows since 2009.

    United Way of 1000 Lakes/Greenway High School: Greenway HS is excited to have a full complement in the Student Services office this year including 2 counselors 5-12 and a full time social worker! Alongside the academic interventionist we are ramping up our student supports through our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) training this summer and it is crucial that we have the additional personnel to provide for intervention work with students. This position will enjoy an opportunity to not only work with students in need, but with a dynamic team of passionate and committed support specialists and teachers.

    Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland will deliver evidence-based programming at our two Duluth sites in effort to reduce dropout rates. Interventions will be guided by implementation of the Check & Connect student engagement model, one of the top rated dropout prevention programs in the U.S. Department of Education’s What Works Clearinghouse.

    TRIO Wolf Creek Distance Learning Charter School: We are looking for individuals who wish to work in an innovative online charter school with at-risk youth. Duties to include communications with students in a face to face settings as well as online methods. Creativity and flexibility area must for this position.

    Youth First Community of Promise: Are you interested in being a part of community change for young people?     Mediation and Restorative Services: Mediation and Restorative Services is a non-profit organization working with a variety of people to restore harm and create peaceful solutions. We work with youth, communities, families and people undergoing housing issues. Our mission is to restore harm by creating a neutral environment where people feel safe and overcome their hardship.
