  • Promise Fellow- Metro Schools

    Best Academy: Are you interested in being part of a diverse team who believes in doing whatever it takes to close the achievement gap and rebuild the community? If you are interested in working with youth in grades 6-8 at an Afrocentric school, this is the position for you. Join our passionate and dedicated team at Best Academy!

    Fridley Public Schools: As a world class community of learners, Fridley Public Schools aims to develop internationally minded students. We challenge ourselves, our students, and our community to become caring and knowledgeable life-long learners who inquire and take action to create a better world.

    Laura Jeffrey Academy: Laura Jeffrey Academy was founded to help address the systematic decline of interest and skill for middle school girls in the areas of math, science and physical education. We are a public, girl-focused, STEM-focused school that strives to provide an empowering education for all our students. Come join our team of passionate educators!

    White Bear Lake Area Schools: Join a team of leaders in innovative education at White Bear Lake Area Schools! Utilize your passion and experience to develop personal relationships and provide one-on-one supports that reengage and advance youth who are experiencing at-risk situations. We at White Bear Lake Area Schools believe that the unique experiences, talents, and personality that you possess will have a positive and profound impact on our students’ success.

    Minnesota Internship Center: Minnesota Internship Center Charter School is a place for second chances and growth for Minneapolis and St. Paul students. If you have a passion for supporting youth in meeting their goals and interests, please consider being a Promise Fellow at one of our sites! We are looking for Enthusiastic, Committed, Collaborative, and Organized individuals to serve on the team with our 9-12 graders.

    Hopkins West Jr. High: Join the revolution! West Junior High is located within the Hopkins School District, and serves students from all over the metro area. We are engaged in the enormous work of changing education to ensure the needs of ALL of our students are met. We are a welcoming community. We embrace individuality, inclusivity, and kindness as empowered learners who create a better world.

    Intermediate District 287: District 287 serves students with higher needs. Our Promise Fellows work with students in Alternative Learning Centers and also contribute to our Diploma On! project to re-engage students who drop from high school. Our team is wildly passionate and supportive, and we look forward to working together with you to combat the achievement gap!

    High School for Recording Arts: High School for Recording Arts has been working with opportunity youth for 20 years, engaging them by first asking, ‘what are you passionate about?’ It is from here, this exploration of interest and creativity, that we construct credit learning opportunities for our young people. Every day, Promise Fellows at High School for Recording Arts will have the opportunity to develop nurturing relationships with young people and help motivate them towards success through their creative pursuits.

    Orono Public Schools: Orono Public Schools mission: Our students will maximize their potential in life because of their experiences in Orono Schools. Our commitment to fulfilling that mission is stronger than ever, and we’re excited to blaze new trails on the roadmap to the future. Orono’s three goals are scholarship, character, and relationships.

    Centennial Middle School: Do you want to love your job and make a difference in kids’ lives?     Eastern Carver County School District: We are passionate about helping students achieve their personal best. Join the dedicated staff in Eastern Carver County Schools and experience a year of service that makes a real impact on students and can be customized to highlight your interests and aspirations.

    Augsburg Fairview Academy: Join the team at Augsburg Fairview Academy through the AmeriCorps Promise Fellow program. Augsburg Fairview Academy offers a teen-friendly, and family-friendly, atmosphere in which students are deeply respected and everyone is held to a high standard of personal honor.     Waconia Public Schools: Interested in making a real, life-long difference in a young adults life? Join the Waconia Public School’s unbelievable team that works tirelessly every day making sure our students are exploring their passions while creating their own success.

    Minnesota Online High School (MNOHS): What do connection, commitment and caring look like at an online high school? Every student has a story, a reason for choosing Minnesota Online High School (MNOHS).     Roseville Area Schools: Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of youth? Roseville Area Schools is seeking AmeriCorps Promise Fellows at the Middle and High School levels to provide mentorship and tutoring to students who need a caring adult to help put them on the right life trajectory. Consider joining us as we unlock the limitless potential of each and every student and help them succeed academically, socially and emotionally.

    Project for Pride in Living: Are you interested in serving at a Minneapolis alternative high school where your day-to-date interactions create life-changing impact for youth at risk? If you have an interest in contributing to positive youth development, education equity, and social justice in a multicultural, informal atmosphere, consider becoming a Promise Fellow at Loring Nicollet Alternative School (LNAS). There, you will be a key link to students—working one-to-one with them to provide unique academic and social-emotional support and empowering them to achieve their goals.

  • Promise Fellow- Greater Minnesota Schools

    United Way of 1000 Lakes/Greenway High School: Greenway HS is excited to have a full complement in the Student Services office this year including 2 counselors 5-12 and a full time social worker! Alongside the academic interventionist we are ramping up our student supports through our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) training this summer and it is crucial that we have the additional personnel to provide for intervention work with students. This position will enjoy an opportunity to not only work with students in need, but with a dynamic team of passionate and committed support specialists and teachers.

    TRIO Wolf Creek Distance Learning Charter School: We are looking for individuals who wish to work in an innovative online charter school with at-risk youth. Duties to include communications with students in a face to face settings as well as online methods. Creativity and flexibility area must for this position.

    STRIDE Academy: STRIDE Academy is a public charter school that aims to be highly regarded for its approach to the whole child, its academic excellence, and for its contribution in actively serving and improving the community. STRIDE values effective community collaboration, building a sense of physical, social, and emotional well-being among students, and positive and culturally responsive practices that increase school connectedness. STRIDE strives to teach students effective critical thinking skills, in addition to compassionate responses, and high emotional intelligence in order to foster successful leaders of today and of the future.

    Northfield Schools and Community: Join a dynamic cohort of 10+ Promise Fellows serving in Northfield, MN, to support the positive trajectory of over 300 local youth! If you are interested in education, social justice, closing the achievement gap, homelessness, mental health, youth development, community collaboration, collective impact and most importantly, young people, we have the perfect service position for you.

    Watertown-Mayer Schools: Watertown-Mayer Middle School and High School are seeking individuals interested helping us work together to what’s best for kids! Our mission is to ensure all students grow through connections and opportunities. We are in need of dedicated individuals that are interested in providing their talents and resources to students in 6-12 grade. If you have a passion for mentoring and coaching young adults please consider joining our team!

    Tri-City United Le Center K-8 School: Are you interested in serving where your day-to-day interactions with youth make a direct impact? If you have an interest in youth development, this is the position for you. Join the passionate and dedicated team at TCU Le Center!

  • Promise Fellow- Community Organizations

    Youth First Community of Promise: Are you interested in being a part of community change for young people? Do you believe that all youth deserve an opportunity to have safe spaces, caring adults, a healthy start, effective education, and opportunities to serve others? If so, then Youth First is the right place for you. Join us in developing young people in the cities of Ramsey, Anoka, Andover, and Coon Rapids through programming that is directed at middle and high school students. Be the role model for who they will strive to be as they grow into adulthood. Join our team-oriented staff to work with our incredible and diverse student population!

    REACH Mentoring Program: Are you interested in serving where your day-to-day interactions with youth make a direct impact? If you have an interest in mentoring, restorative practices, social justice, or youth development; and are looking to bring positive role models into the lives of young people: to build self-esteem, meaningful relationships and a sense of belonging within themselves, their families, their school, and our community. Then work with REACH Mentoring Program in meeting its organizational goals of building protective factors in youth that will lead them to thrive in their community.

    Keystone Community Services: If you believe in the power of community, Keystone’s Community Kids is the program for you! Our students attend public, private, and charter schools; then they all come to our Community Center after school. They receive daily homework help and tutoring, and connect with youth and neighbors from their community. Our students love coming here and you will too! You will have the opportunity to mentor youth in a highly diverse, collaborative environment. Coach them to develop their talents, face challenges, solve problems, and achieve success in school and life.

    Community Mediation & Restorative Services, Inc.: Are you interested in a fellowship where your day-to-day interactions with youth make a direct impact? If you have an interest in mediation or restorative practices, human rights, social justice, law or youth development this is the position for you.

    Breakthrough Twin Cities: Want to make an impact in educational equity? At Breakthrough Twin Cities we empower students and families on the college path through high expectations and individualized support. You could be the “breakthrough” in a student’s life, connecting students with school & community resources and opportunities to inspire success.

    Minneapolis American Indian Center: The Ginew/Golden Eagle Program of the Minneapolis American Indian Center has been changing the lives of American Indian youth for 25 years. If you are committed to addressing the historical trauma impacting Indian youth, and the resultant social, economic and health disparities, and you want to meet some great kids facing big challenges, join our team for 2018-19. Make a difference.

    Legal Rights Center: Are you interested in serving with a team of highly committed youth advocates at a community driven non-profit law firm? Would you like to learn more about restorative practices and how they can help students repair harm, re-engage with their education and find meaningful solutions to challenges? If you are interested in educational equity, juvenile justice and youth advocacy, we would love to have you!

    Minneapolis Park and Recreation Department: Develop and implement outreach strategies and out-of-school-time programs for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) that promote the personal, educational, recreational and social growth of youth ages 12 through 17. Engage and build mentoring relationships with youth with high-risk factors including exposure to neighborhood violence, poverty or low income, highly mobile or homeless, substance use or abuse, or gang exposure or involvement. Work with community partners to meet the interests and needs of youth through the provision of leadership, work readiness and career exploration opportunities.

    Workforce Development Inc.: WDI has successfully assisted underserved youth for over 30 years. Through multiple programs and funding streams, we are able to work with young people from a wide variety of cultural, social and economic backgrounds. Our youth staff is dedicated, energetic, and professional. We assist students with anything involved in career-readiness, and take great pride in helping young people succeed. We also offer an unmatched team environment that is the backbone of our organization.

    Mediation and Restorative Services: Mediation and Restorative Services is a non-profit organization working with a variety of people to restore harm and create peaceful solutions. We work with youth, communities, families and people undergoing housing issues. Our mission is to restore harm by creating a neutral environment where people feel safe and overcome their hardship. Our staff is diverse, friendly and very willing to lend a hand.
