Patience and Trust

At the beginning of the school year, it was hard to make connections with certain students. There was one girl in particular who was never really interested in talking to me. Every day I would make a point to find her and say hi and ask her a few questions. After a few weeks, nothing seemed to change.

One day near the end of the quarter, I was in the office, and this student came to find me and ask if I could help her with an assignment. I see this student now multiple times a week, whether I am helping her with an assignment or just saying hi in the hallway.

The most important thing this experience has taught me is that patience and trust work hand in hand.
