Promise Fellows Program FAQ

Having questions about the Promise Fellows program? Wondering about what to expect of a Promise Fellow serving at your school? This FAQ is here to help.

SUPERVISOR FAQ

My Promise Fellow is not meeting my expectations.

Promise Fellows are AmeriCorps members, which is a developmental program. When challenges arise, the Alliance expects sites to provide adequate coaching and support to members and the time needed to meet expectations.

Should there be a need for Progressive Discipline, the Alliance has updated its policies and procedures.

Didn’t supervisors used to have to do separate timesheets?

The Alliance is no longer using supervisor time as match for our federal grant and therefore no longer needs to collect additional information from supervisors!

My site didn’t have a 30 day check in? Will we have a check in and a site visit?

30 day check ins are currently on pause. If there are questions/concerns, please schedule time with Salena Acox

We anticipate that fall/winter site visit scheduling will begin in early December. If there is an issue at your site that you wish to discuss prior to the visit, please schedule time with the Lead Program Officer.

Can I help spread the word about your open positions?

Absolutely! We are currently accepting applications for the following positions:

Promise Fellow Program Manager

Groundwork Fellow Program Manager

Promise Fellow Team Leader (AmeriCorps)

I’m interested in hosting Promise Fellows next Fall!

Wonderful! We are still working on the application for the 25-26 school year. We will notify all current sites when the host site application becomes available. Some changes coming include:

  • Term Start Date of August 15
  • Return of 1700 positions while still offering 1200/900 terms with all positions going through June 30th

Earning Hours Over Breaks

Whether or not Promise Fellows need to put in hours over the Winter Break depends on where they are with their hours. If Fellows are behind in hours, they should expect to participate in an hours earning activity over the holiday break.
