Being halfway through this experience, this has truly been such a rewarding 5 months of service. Coming into this year of service, I had so many unknowns and fears. Would I like it? Would I enjoy working with these students? Would I feel included at my service site? All of those fears and uncertainties are truly in the past. I have created some of the most amazing and rewarding experiences.

One of my students truly makes me proud every single day. After hearing how her year was last year with very poor attendance and minimal work completion, to see who she is this year is the best thing ever to see. She has created friendships, has improved her attendance, and is starting to feel out where she belongs in this school. Her grades are also a huge improvement and seeing her work through her assignments is so fun to watch.

The relationship that I have created with this student is absolutely amazing. She reminds me so much of myself, whether we are talking about our music tastes, our hobbies, or even reading the same books. Watching her grow these last 4-5 months has been the highlight of this service. I cannot wait to see where she grows by June.
